Bowland Brewery reports record year-end results

06.07.22

Clitheroe-based brewery, Bowland Brewery, has reported a 21.5% rise in turnover to hit a record £1.7m for FY 2021/22 against pre-COVID year FY 2018/19, while profits more than doubled with a 109.5% increase to £229,000.

The family-run brewer of premium cask ales has sold over 1.1m pints of cask, 400,000 bottles and directly supplies pubs, hotels and bars across the North of England since 1983 with national distribution via Coors.

Bowland Brewery is owned by Andrew & James Warburton who took over the brewery in 2014. Since then, the brewery has expanded its core range of ales and added a Pilsner to its range in 2020. During the past financial year, Bowland Brewery has expanded its offering into gin and has begun distilling its first London Dry, Bowland No.1, which was launched earlier this month.

Warren Bennett, Managing Director of Bowland Brewery commented:

“Despite the challenges we faced as we began to operate in a post-pandemic climate in 2021, we have remained in a strong position and as a result have ended the year with some fantastic results. Our team are at the forefront of this success, navigating a trading environment that we could never have anticipated.”

“Not only that but I would like to thank all our trade customers for their support over the last few years. The hospitality sector has suffered immensely since March 2020, and we are grateful for all the support we have received from both trade and non-trade customers who have helped us not only return to sustainable business levels but achieve such outstanding results.”
