The Story of James’ Places…
It all began in 1996 with the purchase and refurbishment of the former Methodist Chapel on Moor Lane, Clitheroe. The tired and neglected building was given the kiss of life and The Emporium was born.
That, in a nutshell, is what we have been doing ever since. Over 25 years on and James’ Places is now a unique group of hospitality and leisure businesses in the Ribble Valley, Yorkshire Dales and South Lakes.
Although no two places are alike, they share a passion for fabulous food, great service and a warm, friendly ambience that’s apparent as soon as you walk through the door.
Our business has grown and developed over the years and we have become renowned for award-winning wedding venues. We currently have 5 wedding venues which are part of our Dream Venues Collection brand.
As we continued to expand, we recognised the need to rename our parent company and so Bowland Inns & Hotels was born. Bowland Inns & Hotels encompasses our sub-brands James’ Places and the Dream Venues Collection.
Our goal is to continue to grow, adding more venues to our award-winning group, that share the same family DNA that all our venues possess.
