Clitheroe-based Bowland Brewery has taken its first step into the world of distilling with the launch of its first gin, Bowland No.1.
The brewery, which is based at Holmes Mill in Clitheroe, has launched its signature gin following an event held on Wednesday 27th July 2022 where business people from across Lancashire were invited to sample the new product.
Bowland No.1 Gin is a classic London Dry gin which has been created in a copper still located at the back of the Bistro, Bar & Grill restaurant at Holmes Mill.
Warren Bennett, Managing Director of Bowland Brewery commented:
“We are delighted to be finally launching our first ever gin – a project that started during the COVID-19 lockdown. We invested in the gin still as part of our diversification plan post-COVID and locating it in the Bistro, Bar & Grill felt like the natural place. Bowland Beer Hall at Holmes Mill gives our customers the opportunity to see the beer that they are drinking being brewed so it was fitting for our gin to follow the same ethos. Guests that dine in the Bistro, Bar & Grill can see where the gin has been distilled.”
Bowland Brewery collaborated with Alcohol Solutions, based in Manchester, to create the gin which is made using juniper, orange and chamomile botanicals.
Bowland No.1 Gin is available to buy at Bowland Food Hall at Holmes Mill and is available to drink at all of the James’ Places restaurants, pubs and hotels.
